Overview

New Era Technology has been an SAP services partner for a principal aircraft management, charter, and aviation consulting services company in the United States and delivered an SAP ECC 6 system to a S/4HANA Migration through a Brownfield implementation.

Our approach utilizes New Era Technology’s Program Management, Data, Training, and Security services for the client. 

Challenges & Considerations 

SAP S/4 Program 

This client was undergoing a global S/4 Implementation, resulting in their U.S. Business Units’ migration to the company’s SAP S/4 HANA solution. The client needed SAP strategy and enabling services to execute the Agile framework and SAP Activate methodology during the program. New Era Technology successfully provided and delivered the complete scope of S/4 Migration for the client within 11 months.

New Era Technology’s Strategy and Advisory consulting services determined that the best course of action was to recommend our experienced Program Leadership and Data services to drive the U.S. Business SAP S/4 global template.

This approach would be industrialized for future use in planned global deployments for the client.

This solution ensured digital and non-digital transformation of business operations while guaranteeing maximum process optimization, process redesign, and data integrity.

By honing our leadership, the client was successful in their transformation initiatives by instilling structural changes and discipline that both reduced overall complexity and provided greater flexibility, insight, and value through the SAP Program and the organization. 

Through the SAP Migration Program, New Era planned and provided the planning and provisioning of SAP PMO, SAP Data, SAP Security, and SAP Training practitioners. An essential component for completing this project included showand-tell workshops to analyze the functional impact and define the code remediation changes.

The SAP team leaned on considerable SAP implementation and deployment experience and accelerators to clarify the client’s S/4 vision.

Providing clear and synched systemic benefits of the adopted solution and continued to provide navigation and leadership for the S/4 roadmap.

Despite the complexity, challenges, and considerations surrounding this program, New Era successfully delivered the outcomes using the SAP Activate Agile framework. The team re-used and established non-digital transformation techniques, such as process standardization, eliminating waste, redesigning processes, best practices of SAP, and robust security controls. 

The client realized the Digital transformation methods that an SAP implementation brings (i.e., reduction of manual efforts, expunging manual code, and process automation). The client successfully implemented their SAP S/4 solution and allowed the organization to transform its operations in finance to become more closely aligned with the business strategies going forward. The skill set shift of the program allowed Finance to focus on advanced analytics, ramp up domain, technical, and business understanding of a tightly integrated system, and become a business panacea for the
lines of business they service
